Fresh salmon pink in the glass. Delicate and fresh notes of raspberries, crisp apple and subtle cinnamon spice. A fresh and lively off dry Rosé with a well rounded palate of fresh Summer berries and delicious ripe apricots.
The Pinot Gris grapes used to make this elegant Rosé were selected from vineyards in Marlborough's central Wairau Valley. The 2019 vintage started with cool spring weather which extended the length of flowering, leading to open bunches. A long and hot growing season led to lower crop levels with increased intensity of rich and vibrant fruit characterisitcs. Ripening steadily throughout the growing period, we kept a close eye on the grapes before selecting the optimum moment of ripeness for harvesting.
The fruit was machine harvested during a cool night at peak maturity. Once received at the winery, the grapes were carefully pressed and fermented in a stainless steel tank at a cool temperature to retain fresh and fruity characterisitcs. After fermentation, a small portion of Malbec was blended with the Pinot Gris to create a delicate pink colour and flavour complexity. Once carefully blended, the wine was fined and prepared for bottling.
Food Pairing: The 2019 Delta Rosé has a fresh and fruity off dry palate full of rich berries and subtle spices. An ideal match with spicy Thai red curry, or for sipping in the sunshine with friends and family.
