Description

  • Stone fruit
  • Citrus
  • Clean acidity
  • Creamy finish

"Aromatic and floral, zesty, fresh and full of pear and peach characters, with a firm line of citrus-like acidity and a soft, creamy oak influence. A well-balanced and easy-drinking expression. Drink 2018 - 2024" Decanter Magazine, Feb 2018

"Brilliant straw-yellow with lemon-gold hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and bright with vibrant and intense aromas of citrus fruits and white and yellow stonefruits forming a tightly bound core. The fruit is entwined with nutty oak, some creamy barrel-ferment elements combined with lemon-curd MLF, and a little oak toastiness. The aromatics are refreshing and possess cut. Mediumfull bodied, the palate is tightly bound and elegant in proportion with lively and deep flavours of white stonefruits and citrus fruit melded with nutty oak. The fruit sweetness and fresh acidity carry the wine along a fine-textured line, leading to a taut, lingering finish of stonefruits, citrus fruit and creamy oak. This is an elegant, intense and vibrantly refreshing Chardonnay with stonefruit and citrus fruit flavours, and nutty oak detail. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 4 years. Clone 6 and Mendoza fruit from ungrafted vines, WBP and indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 10% new French oak with 95% MLF. Certified BioGro organic" Raymond Chan, May 2017

"A tightly structured chardonnay; the delicately lifted bouquet shows Gala apple, grapefruit, dried grass, oatmeal and almond characters. The palate displays elegant weight and rounded mouthfeel, backed by firm acidity, offering sturdy structure and a persistent chalky finish. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2019

An attractive nose with citrus, and subtle, stone-fruit characters. The palate is textural, precise and long. The lush mouthfeel is finely balanced by a crisp clean acidity giving the wine beautiful balance and good focus. A wine with minerality, excellent length and a mouthwatering fruit finish that is slightly creamy.

After gentle whole-bunch pressing, the chardonnay juice was gravity fed into French oak barrels, (10% new) with a high grape solids content to add interest and texture. All lots were fermented with indigenous yeast and the barrels were stirred daily during fermentation then left to rest and settle over the winter months.

Food Pairing: Match this wine with a creamy mushroom pasta or with pan fried salmon & potato rosti.
