Description

  • Oaked
  • White peach
  • Crème brulee
  • Brioche & toasted hazelnut

"Brilliantly priced and gorgeously expressed, it is instantly appealing on the nose showing grilled peach, brioche, hazelnut and vanilla pod characters. The palate delivers terrific fruit intensity and mid palate weight, wonderfully complemented by creamy mouthfeel and silky texture" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2018

A stylish Chardonnay with aromas of white peach, crème brulee and subtle caramel notes. The palate is elegant and silky with stone fruit flavours, and a toasted hazelnut finish. An attractive, easy-drinking style with a long, lingering finish. Drinking well now and will continue to develop over the next few years.

Fruit for this wine was harvested from a select number of Marlborough vineyards, mainly in the Rapaura area. The wine is partially fermented in seasoned oak and these nutty oak notes support the bright fruit flavours.

Food Pairing: Match with oysters Rockefeller or a creamy chicken risotto.

Excellent value, buttery and delicious. My go to wine. Thoroughly recommend

After purchasing cases of the 2015 & 16 vintages we tasted this vintage last night with our fish meal with interest to see how it stacked up. It certainly improved as we ate food. It has pronounced citrus overtones with good acid to fruit ratio. Probably not for lovers of more creamier styles. Rather than a quaffer, we both considered that it shows its best with food accompanying it. Would have given it 3 and a half stars if the choice had been available, but well above average for the price.
