Description
This wine displays a beautiful colour of light vermillion in the glass, followed by layers of rich raspberry red fruits, hints of Central Otago wild flower and subtle spice aromatics.
Take a trip down memory lane and embrace the gentle hidden notes of Parlans raspberry caramels. The palate is well integrated with gentle acidity and delicate texture. Rich and rounded with tension and verve.
The grapes were destemmed and left in contact with their skins for 4.5 days. The vines are spaced 2.4 metres between the rows and 1.28 metres between plants, creating a plant density of 3255 vines per hectare. The soil type includes 400-500 mms of wind blown glacial deposits, overlaid with around 4-5 metres of free draining alluvial schist.
Food Pairing: Pair this wine with serious seafood such as lobster, seared salmon, tuna or duck and delicately cooked rare lamb. Alternatively, white-rinded cheeses such as Camembert and Brie so long as you don't let them get too ripe and runny.
