Description

"Gorgeously expressed and inviting, the bouquet shows green rockmelon, feijoa, lime zest and nectarine characters, followed by a juicy palate that is filled with attractive fruit intensity and vibrancy. It is up front and immediately appealing with a lengthy tasty finish. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2019

Pure and vibrant with layers of delicious tropical and citrus fruits and hints of Jalapeno and blackcurrant leaf. Fresh fruit flavours and crisp acidity combine to deliver a long and refreshing finish. A quintessential Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, it’s sure to impress.

The 2019 growing season in Marlborough was not without some challenges. Cooler temperatures combined with higher then average rainfall resulted in a prolonged flowering and delayed start to the growing season. This was followed by a warm spell that lasted from December through to harvest, fast tracking maturity and increasing transpiration rates that helped put pressure on already low water supplies. Despite all this, the fruit ripened nicely on the vines, disease pressure was very low and we had clean, ripe and intensely flavoured fruit come harvest in April with soft approachable acids.

Once harvested, the fruit was gently pressed and the juice fermented at cool temperatures to capture the vibrant fruit flavours from the vineyards. This Rapaura Springs Sauvignon Blanc has a broad range of fine fruit flavours from each of the Marlborough sub-regions.

Each bottle of Rapaura Springs tells the story of a lifetime. Of water and wine, and of generations of family working with nature. This label depicts the rocky aquifer at their home vineyard, and the pristine springs that connect it to the land. Winemakers make exceptional wines that reflect our remarkable landscapes, pure waterways and passionate people. These Classic wines capture the best sub-regional flavours in a bottle.
