Description
Pale gold colour in the glass. Showcasing aromas of ripe stone fruit of nectarine and peach with hazelnut and spice. This Mystery Chardonnay presents a rich palette of fresh nectarine stone fruit, crème brulee with a hint of hazelnut and cinnamon spice. This wine has a silky texture, good pallet weight and a lingering creamy finish. Drinking well now, and will continue to develop over the next few years.
The fruit for this Mystery wine was selected from vineyards across the Marlborough region. The blend contains a mix of clone 6, clone 15 and clone 95, predominantly clone 6. Machine harvested, pressed, lightly settled, then racked and inoculated with a selected yeast strain and fermented in stainless steel and seasoned oak. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 10 months in French oak and lightly fined.
