Michael Cooper's Buyer's Guide 2018

Description

Packed with classic citrus, passionfruit sorbet flavours alongside fresh snow peas and zesty lime. Crisp, crunchy and delicious with a satisfying length of flavour.

Blessed with a cool climate, abundant sunshine and free draining soil, the Marlborough wine growing district is world-renowned. Thornbury's vineyards are located in the Wairau and Awatere Valley's, produce Sauvignon Blanc that is attracting international acclaim for their vibrancy and freshness.

The two largest sub-regions in New Zealand - Marlborough's Wairau and Awatere Valleys sit side by side and produce the world's most distinctive Sauvignon Blancs. A blend of 53% was grown in the Wairau Valley which provides richness and weight along with 47% coming from the cooler Awatere Valley which is famous for its finesse and minerality.

Cool fermented in stainless steel tanks using aromatic yeasts. The wine spent time on its yeast lees to lend extra texture and weight.

Food Pairing: Fresh seafood and white meats.

Yum! A nicely rounded Sauvignon, jolly good for rewarding oneself after a hard days yakka on the land as frost bites the fingertips.
