Description

"It is fabulously fruited and lifted on the nose showing feijoa, kiwifruit, rockmelon and lime peel characters, leading to a succulent palate that is intensely flavoursome. The wine offers terrific fruit purity, finishing long and delectable. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2019

Perfumed with grapefruit and lime zest, with sweet underlying passionfruit pulp. The palate is dry with a vibrant acid tension, there is a sweet fruit character showing the classic Marlborough interplay of tropical fruits, citrus and zesty currant and guava flavours. Ripe flavours from a warm vintage, and a subtly firm structure give the potential for moderate cellaring. The initial sweet fruit character will diminish after several years, but expect pleasant drinking to at least 2022.

2018 was a very warm growing season, being dry through Spring and Summer, and a change to wetter conditions in the Autumn harvest period. Our quickest harvest ever had the Sauvignon Blanc rapidly picked from the vines between periods of rain, with great flavours.

Harvested predominantly in the cool of early morning, gentle juice extraction, and pressing under inert gas. Cool settled and mainly fermented in stainless steel tanks, around 6% of fermentation in oak barrels.
