"Very dark, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly firm with ripe and sweet aromas of red berry fruit entwined with a layering of dark herbs and subtle notes of earth, unfolding savoury dark-red florals. Palacio Oriente is made by Bodegas Valoria, barely 5 kilometres from Logroño, right on the road to Santiago very near the Grajera Natural Park. Bodegas Valoria was founded by the Pérez Foncea family of Fuenmayor in 1860 is one of the oldest and best-known wineries of the La Rioja DO. The winery now exports 70% of its production to 60 countries. A traditional blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo. After selecting the best small bunches, temperature controlled  fermentation and maceration is carried out in stainless steel  to preserve fruit freshness before maturation  for 8 months in American oak barrels before release.
