Description
Pale straw colour in the glass. Lifted, elegant and refreshing aromas of white peach, nectarine and vanilla on the nose. Medium bodied with a round and refreshing palate showing ripe peach and stone fruit flavours. Underlying grapefruit and nectarine notes lead to a full, lingering finish. Perfect for drinking immediately, this Chardonnay will be at its best over the next two to three years.
Fruit was harvested from selected vineyards in Marlborough’s Awatere and Wairau valleys. The clone 6 vines in these vineyards deliver all the desired complexity and fresh fruit flavours required for this unwooded and refreshing style. These flavours are enhanced through cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Following fermentation each component was assessed and given appropriate lees maturation time, with a portion undergoing malolactic fermentation to add creaminess. The final blend was balanced, lightly fined then prepared for bottling.
