"This is splendidly fruited and composed, showing black/blueberry, spiced cherry, floral, vanilla and olive characters on the nose. The palate is succulent and fleshy, displaying lovely fruit purity and supple mouthfeel, leading to a persistent velvety finish. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2019

Dark and broody but with berry fruit brightness and vitality. This is a wonderfully harmonious wine with dark berry fruit, milk chocolate, cedar wood spices and soft, supple yet affirming tannins. This mouth-filling wine is packed with flavour and has the structure to reward will careful cellaring.

The Force of Nature range are fresh and fruit driven Organic wines produced by Five Red Star Halliday rated winemaker Nicholas Crampton. Unwavering in his zest and passion for the crafting of character-filled wines of maximum flavour, here his expert craftsmanship turns to the blending of bright, fragrant, red fruited Organic Monash Shiraz with the more muscular, darker and intense berry and milk chocolate flavours of older vine Organic McLaren Vale Shiraz.

2018 began well with solid winter rains replenishing the soil from the year prior. The vines had very good vigour throughout spring but with the drying of summer it was kept in check. A couple of light rain events in the new year and cool weather kept ripening at moderate pace before beautiful warm days and sunshine toward the end of summer finished ripening off perfectly. This should be considered a very good year for most growers.

The fruit for this wine has been delivered from two prominent Organic Growers of South Australia. Both estates with similar care in the vineyards delivering rich, flavoursome fruit from dry grown, older vines that have been hand harvested and carefully delivered to the winemaking facility.

The fruit for this wine was harvested during the night to ensure the freshness of the fruit is maintained. The bunches were fully de-stemmed, crushed and transferred to stainless steel open fermenters to complete fermentation with regular plunging to extract colour and tannin. 40% of the wine was transferred to second use French oak for maturation and blended to craft a wine of rich fruit flavours complexed with nuance of time spent in oak.
