Description
Pale straw with light gold hues in the glass. Ripe pear, white pear and tropical fruits, with notes of blossom and spice on the nose. Medium-bodied Pinot Gris with great texture. Fruit driven wine with ripe pear and stonefruit. Richness balanced with citrusy acid.
Stables Reserve is a fruit driven varietal range produced from small parcels of premium grapes from selected vineyards in Hawke’ Bay. These food friendly wines have good palate weight and are styled to bring out the true varietal character of the region.
The 2018 vintage is a classic high quality Pinot Gris vintage in Hawkes Bay. Hot and dry conditions from December through to February ensured ripe, flavoursome fruit in excellent condition. This single vineyard Pinot Gris was produced from an ultra-premium vineyard.
The 2018 Stables Reserve is a stylish, ripe fruit-driven wine that shows good texture and mouth feel. It is produced from fruit grown predominantly on free draining soils on this cooler site.
A sense of history hangs in the rafters at the Stables. Built over 100 years ago, the Stables is the heart of the Ngatarawa winery in the Hawke's Bay. And it’s the home of New Zealand’s first family of winemaking, the Corbans.
