Description

"The powerful 2014 vintage (5*) is a dense, youthful red, matured for 15 months in French oak casks (30 per cent new). Deeply coloured, it has bold, very ripe cherry and plum flavours, a hint of liquorice, and good tannin backbone. Built for the long haul, it's well worth cellaring to 2021+" Michael Cooper

"Sophisticated and striking, the splendid bouquet shows black cherry, spiced plum, earthy mushroom, cedar and game characters. The palate is equally gratifying with outstanding fruit power and richness, beautifully framed by loads of silky tannins. It is seamless, mouthfilling and starting to show bottle matured complexity. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sept 2018

"Dark, deep, black-hued red colour with slight garnet hues, a little lighter on the rim.  The nose is gently full with deep and well-concentrated aromas of ripe, dark-red and black-berried fruits, harmoniously interwoven with dark herbs and hints of liquorice, plums and spices.  This is rich and plush in expression.  Medium-full bodied, the palate is plush with sweet and juicy flavours of dark-red berry fruit and subtle complexing notes of savoury dark plums, with nuances of dark herbs, liquorice, unfolding a little spice.  The fruit is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity and underlined by fine-grained tannin extraction, lending a refined line and mouthfeel.  This has a concentrated heart that carries to a lingering finish of dark-red berries, plums, liquorice and earthy hints.  This is a rich and juicy, plush Pinot Noir with dark berry and plum flavours, fresh acidity and fine structure.  Match with coq au vin and casseroles over the next 5-6 years.  Predominantly clone 5 with some 667 and 777, indigenous yeast fermented with 10% whole bunches to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 15 months in 30% new oak" Raymon Chan, Aug 2018

Garnet in colour with heady aromas of black cherries, blackberries, spice and forest floor with a touch of dried herbs.  Quite broad on the palate, full and round with sweet flavours of blackberry, cassis, underpinned with earthy, dusty notes and a touch of tar.  Silky tannins finish off this beautifully balanced, powerful structured wine.
