Description
Pale, yet bright pink with lovely lifted aromas of strawberries and cream, a floral hint and touch of cherry. The wine is dry, vibrant and fresh with subtle berry characters. Being Pinot Noir, it is well-structured yet offers lovely ripe, juicy fruit and a crisp finish.
From Lawson's own Chaytors Rd Vineyard situated on the banks of the Wairau Diversion, the grapes for this wine are 10/5 Pinot Noir clone. Light, silt soils with gravel aspects provide lovely perfumed Pinot Noir ideally suited to the making of rosé. The vines were spur-pruned, shoot-thinned and then fruit-thinned to ensure the fruit zone wasn’t crowded. A warm season meant we picked these grapes a week earlier than normal and in lovely condition.
The grapes were harvested and then crushed them into the press where they were held on skins for 4-12hrs to extract both colour and berry fruit flavours.
Food Pairing: Delicious partnered with an antipasto platter – this wine is just great with cured meats, olives, cheeses, it works with everything!
