Description

"Restrained and delicate, the bouquet shows grapefruit, lemon peel, gunsmoke and crunchy apple characters, leading to a finely textured palate that is taut and linear. It is crisp, vibrant and mouth-watering with a lingering dry finish. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2018

"A discreet wine with attractive lemony fruit plus a little white peach. The wine is pleasantly restrained, and it is not over fruity. Composed and balanced" Toni Paterson, Real Review, Sep 2018

Light straw with pale green hues in the glass. Beautiful aromas of white peach, citrus and melon flavours combine with savoury oak on the nose. On the palate the wine has a pleasing texture and good length with a clean finish.

Angove Organic Chardonnay is sourced from organically certified vineyards in the Riverland and McLaren Vale regions of South Australia. Vintage in most of Australia’s wine region was late and drawn out after a cool Spring meant many varieties started their growing season later than had been the case for the past 5 years. Cool weather continued through January and February and careful attention in the vineyard was needed to ensure picking occurred at peak flavour ripeness.

Picked late at night to harvest the grapes as cold as possible the grapes were transported to the winery and pressed using modern membrane tank presses. After cold settling the clear juice was carefully racked to cooled fermentation tanks and inoculated with selected yeasts. Cool fermentation was followed by minimal handling fi ltration and bottling at the Angove winery.

Food Pairing: Grilled line caught seafood or organic free range roast chicken.
