This full bodied wine blends plum and chocolate with cigar box characters in a complex but smooth blend. Aromas of plum, mulberry, hints of chocolate with cigar-box characters. A full-bodied, voluptuous wine with fine tannins and ripe, berry fruit flavours balanced by earthiness and spice. Subtle oak characters give complexity and enhance the rich, yet smooth and typically merlot palate. This wine can be enjoyed now and will cellar over the next 3-5 years.
Sourced from premium vineyards in the Limestone Coast, renowned for producing distinctive varietal characters of ripe mulberries, plums and other savoury fruits, grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness with the perfect sugar, acid and flavour balance. This rich and flavoursome wine was matured in both French and American barriques for 10-months to capture and enhance the complexity of this variety.
