Bright, very pale yellow in the glass. This Mystery wine is a fresh fruit driven style of Chardonnay with aromas of honeydew melon and warmed cinnamon spice. Bright, fresh on the palate. It displays ripe stone fruits which bring focus to the mid palate. The textural character imparts a round fleshy note with a balanced acidity tying all these elements together.
The fruit for this wine was harvested from the Turner Vineyard located in the Blind River area of the Awatere Valley.
The fruit was crushed and pressed immediately after harvest. The wine was fermented 100% in stainless steel tanks. It was aged on light lees for an extended time to develop textural character and then carefully prepared for bottle in the Autumn of 2016. This Chardonnay is unoaked. Drinking well now, this wine can be enjoyed for the next two to five years.
Food Pairing: Perfect to enjoy on its own or with fresh goats cheese.

this unoaked chardonnay is packed with flavour at the price. Too late for cellaring, but fantastic as a food wine, paired with fish, chicken and cheeses.
