Angove Organic Sauvignon Blanc is a single vineyard wine made from organically certified grapes grown in our own Nanya Vineyard, near Paringa South Australia. Vintage 2018 in the heartland of the Australian industry was again back to a more "normal" pattern after many years of fast, furious, compressed harvests. Cool conditions during flowering led to low crop set and the resultant yields were 25-30% down on average. The cool conditions continued but with little rain careful irrigation was needed to allow the vines to reveal the fantastic varietal expression in many white varieties including Sauvignon Blanc.

The grapes are harvested in the cool of the night to minimise any risk of oxidation and spoilage of the delicate varietal character. In under an hour from picking the grapes are in the winery and pressed using modern tank presses. After cold setting the clear juice was carefully racked to cooled fermentation tanks and inoculated with specially selected yeasts. Carefully controlled fermentation was followed by minimal handling, filtration and bottling at the Angove organically certified winery.
