Description

"It is delightfully expressed on the nose showing nectarine, kiwifruit, apple and lemon peel aromas, followed by a succulent palate that is intensely flavoured and mouth-wateringly tasty. The wine offers terrific fruit purity and vibrancy, finishing persistent and delicious. At its best: now to 2020" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2018

The nose has beautiful aromatics of passionfruit and gooseberries with hints tropical fruit and lime. These flow onto a textured palate that has up-front flavours and a long fresh finish.

In ancient Greece the Sileni were companions of Dionysus, the god of wine, vineyards and theatre. When there was something to be celebrated, the Sileni were always on hand to encourage enjoyment of delicious food, great wine and social interaction. Named in their honour, Sileni Estates produces a range of wines made to be great collaborators, with a talent for enhancing flavours and textures.

The fruit for this Reserve Sauvignon Blanc were grown across a variety of soil types in Marlborough. Our clay loams produce citrus notes and the gravel areas provide tropical flavours whereas the deep silty sites lift the aromatic quality.

The grapes were carefully harvested and the juice clarified before going through fermentation in stainless steel tank. This allowed us to retain the full fruit characters of Sauvignon Blanc. After ferment the wine was left for a period on yeast lees to develop texture and complexity.
