Description

  • French & American oak
  • Ripe blackberry & plum
  • Chocolate tart
  • Polished tannins

"This is sweetly fruited and wonderfully fragrant on the nose, showing black/blueberry, chocolate tart, black olive and cedar characters. The palate is richly expressed and concentrated with excellent depth of flavour backed by velvety mouthfeel and polished tannins. It is sumptuous and instantly appealing. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2018

A classic fruit driven Barossa Valley Shiraz, this wine showcases ripe blackberry and plum characters. The conscious integration of oak results in subtle vanilla spice tones on the palate. This wine has youthful, grippy tannins and 3ill continue to develop for the next 10 years.

The Shortlist range is a selection of multi-award-winning wines that represent the unique flavour and character of each varietal as well as the influence of the terroir on the wine. Each bottle is individually numbered.

Picked in the cool of the night where it was transferred to the winery and underwent fermentation in 8 tonne open fermenters at cooler temperatures for around 10 days. This wine is put through malo-lactic fermentation and then transferred to old and new French and American Hogshead barrels to mature for 16 months prior to bottling.

Food Pairing: This wine pairs perfectly with any rich, hearty red meat dishes.
