Description
"Moderately deep red colour with light garnet hues on the edge. The nose is fresh and light with initially restrained aromas of cherry and strawberry fruit entwined with delicate red florals and subtle notes of fresh herbs. The fruit grows in depth and the aromatics become rounder with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in presentation with gently sweet flavours of cherries and strawberries melded with fresh and dark herbs, unveiling floral nuances. The fruit forms an elegant, taut core and the palate is enlivened by crisp and brisk acidity. The fruit is underlined by soft, light tannin extraction, and the acidity carries the wine to a light, lingering, subtly herb-nuanced finish. This is a light Pinot Noir with cherry and strawberry fruit along with cooler spectrum herb notes on a brisk, supple palate. Match with antipasto, charcuterie and tapas over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Upper Wairau Valleys, fermented to 13.0% alc., 35% of the wine aged 10 months in French oak barrels" Raymond Chan, Jun 2018
"Brightly fruited and elegantly fragrant, the bouquet shows red cherry, dark plum, floral and spice aromas, leading to a juicy palate that is beautifully rounded and smooth. The wine offers pristine fruit flavours and fine texture, nicely framed by polished tannins, making it very easy to enjoy. At its best: now to 2020" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018
Garnet red colour in the glass, this is a beautifully aromatic Pinot Noir, with cherry, plum and spice notes. The palate shows black fruit flavours combined with rich savoury characters, a silky smooth texture and long finish.
