Description

"Bright, very light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on the rim. The nose is very elegant and fine in presentation with a tight core of pungent passionfruit and ripe tropical fruit with subtle notes of nettles and thirst-quenching chalky minerals. The aromatics build in intensity in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with a tight core and line of sweet, pungent passionfruit with notes of tropical fruits, herbs and nettles. The palate has light, dry, thirst-quenching phenolic textures and the flavours with good acid energy along a dry-textured, elegant line, leading to a chalky, minerally finish. This is an elegant, taut and textured Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours on a fine, dry phenolic line. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2 years. Fruit from Taylors Pass, Awatere and Omaka Valleys, Lower Wairau and Hawkesbury, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 0.6 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees for a short period" Raymond Chan, Sep 2018

This wine is pale lime in colour in the glass. Vivacious tropical aromas of passionfruit burst from the glass, mixed with zingy accents of kaffir lime and subtle herbaceous notes of tomato stalk. This incredibly juicy drop captures the essence of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. With mouth watering intensity, the palate embraces concentrated flavours of passionfruit and citrus and carries subtle hints of blackcurrant leaf. These flavours linger giving a long, well-rounded finish to the wine.

Jules, the wine maker, loves this wine because it is so expressive of the site where it’s grown. It's a grape that, within a row - and even within a bunch - has an incredible diversity of pure flavour. This wine as a result has become her benchmark style, carving out a cult following with Sauvignon lovers over the years and regulary picking up numerous awards and postive reviews from wine critics!
