Description

On the palate the wine is rich and complex with a lively texture on the palate. Pinot Gris is a variety that goes particularly well with food, including quite intensely flavoured dishes.

The Brajkovich family and Kumeu River Wines is a story that parallels the New Zealand wine industry, from the pioneering days of their establishment of the New Zealand wine industry to today, the Brajkovich family have been internationally recognised as producing world class wine. The Pinot Gris vineyards we have in Kumeu have been producing grapes of high quality consistently to allow the Brajkovich family to make wine that is rich, complex and delicious. Utilising wild yeast fermentation, in tanks over an extended period, with winemakers stopping this at 4.1 grams per litre of residual sugar they have produced a wine with typical Pinot Gris aromas of peach and stone fruit notes tinged with the floral perfume.

Food Pairing: This is one of the few wine styles that can handle the spiciness of chilli, so together with the sweet succulence of prawns, a nicely chilled bottle of Kumeu River Pinot Gris makes up a spectacular combination.
