Description

"There’s a tiny amount of strut to this wine. It’s a good thing. It tastes of blackcurrant, ground coffee, mint and fresh herbs, and while it’s generally elegant it powers confidently through the finish" James Halliday Wine Companion 2017

"Cedar, spice, blackberry nose. Rounded body with well-balanced spice & light tannins" India Munari

"Spicy nose, cinnamon layers. Complex & interesting intensity" Tiffany Gardoll, National Liquor News May 2017

"A strange word classic, to those who adore old vehicles a classic car is a machine of beauty, to othersits an old car. This is classic Coonawarra cabernet and to me a wine of great beauty, its drinking very well now but has a long life ahead an easy 96 points" Tony Keys, The Key Report, Jan/Feb 2017

This Cabernet is loaded with fruity, full-bodied traits. It is an attractive medium red colour with a hint of purple and gives off fragrant dark cherry, mulberry and herbal aromas. The palate delivers bold, dark red berry fruit, a hint of chocolate, integrated with oak and lasting tannins. A restrained level of acid rounds out the wine.

Zema is proudly independent, deriving its meaning and inspiration from the sense of trust, security and dependability that comes from family and the feeling that everything it does has been influenced by a rich legacy of stories and culture. Over four decades it has developed a reputation for producing premium quality Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, with a consistency that defies vintage and seasonal fluctuations. It has achieved this through attention to detail – hand pruning, careful fruit selection, meticulous viticulture, passionate winemaking, diligent bottle ageing and a deep respect for the place and provenance of Coonawarra.

Food Pairing: Serve with beef cheeks and you can’t go wrong.
