1 x Take It To The Grave Langhorne & Barossa Valley Shiraz 2017 (Australia)

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2018

"Wonderfully fruited and powerfully expressed, the wine is packed with gorgeous dark fruit flavours together with notes of warm spice, cocoa and cedar. It is plump and fleshy on the palate, delivering succulent fruit flavours and velvety mouthfeel, finishing persistent and delectable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2018

Made by Australian wine-making legend Corey Ryan, the man behind the very impressive Sons of Eden wines, the 'Take it to the Grave' range was created by Nicholas Crampton and winemaker Corey Ryan as a range of contemporary wines that explore the greatest challenges and rewards in winemaking with this Shiraz displaying the unique richness and character that only truly old-vines can being sourced from a selection of mature, dry-grown vineyards in Langhorne Creek managed by Jim Zerella (delivering intensity, length and structure) and blended with a parcel of Barossa Valley Shiraz from Light Pass and the eastern slopes that provided opulent fruit depth.

1 x Take It To The Grave Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (Australia)

AWARDED 92/100 Points: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018

"This is richly fruited and instantly appealing on the nose showing blackcurrant, dark plum, mint chocolate, cocoa and roasted almond characters. The palate is succulent and moreish with excellent fruit intensity and purity, brilliantly supported by silky tannins. A very tasty offering. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018

Take it to the Grave was created by Nicholas Crampton and winemaker Corey Ryan as a range of contemporary wines that explore the greatest challenges and rewards in winemaking, offering very affordable old vine wine that punch well above their weight. These wines look great (both in and out of the bottle), regularly winning impressive awards and glowing critical reviews. The Take it to the Grave Cabernet Sauvignon attempts the ultimate challenge of achieving both true varietal Cabernet character and approachability. Sourced from a selection of mature vineyards (20 years old) planted on red Terra Rossa soils of Coonawarra (20 years plus).

1 x Burns & Fuller Adelaide Hills &  Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2017 (Australia)

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018

"This is super comforting and gratifying; lifted aromas of blackberry, vanilla, milk chocolate and cake spice lead to a concentrated palate that is fleshy and velvety. The wine is filled with gorgeous fruit flavours backed by silky texture and polished tannins, finishing long and attractive" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018

"It’s ripe and bold with flavour, the message clear and simple. Warm, sweet, berried flavour, served unadorned. Saltbush flavours enter the fray (in healthy measure too) and while it’s not rough, it’s not the smoothest wine going around either. Mid-palate has a bit of a dip to it as well. You get dark colour and dark berried flavour and a pretty hefty serve of it too" Campbell Mattinson, www.winefront.com.au, Jun 2018

A partnership with the Adelaide Hills and Langhorne Creek growers, Burns & Fuller is a range of contemporary varietal wines made by Jim Zerella. Each wine is fruit-driven and balanced with a fruity core which has been given complexity by a barrel aged component. Dark purple colour in the glass, with lifted notes of red berry and blackcurrants on the nose that are framed by violet overtones and darker black olive aromas. The palate is dense and tightly wound with a core of sweet berried fruits – blueberry, dark plum and smoky spices – framed by subtle oak toast and fine tannins.  A serious wine at a sensible price!

1 x Guilty by Association Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2016 (Australia)

AWARDED 90/100 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018

"Guilty by Association are the wines that I want to drink, made with people I enjoy working with, from regions we love. The enjoyment of the winemaking challenge has led us to create varietally and regionally expressive Preservative Free wines" Nicholas Crampton, Wine Maker

"It is elegantly expressed on the nose showing spiced cherry, strawberry and floral characters with subtle notes of clove, thyme and almond. The palate delivers juicy fruit flavours and rounded mouthfeel, beautifully supported by silky texture and polished tannins. Well balanced and harmonious with sweet berry notes and delicate savoury nuances" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018

"Winemaker Nicholas Crampton is a man obsessed with collaboration, and he’s roped in all his cobbers across the Adelaide Hills region to contribute small parcels of fruit — which have resulted in this lush, plush, spice-saturated, red-berry rocker of a wine. I’m crushing a bit on Adelaide Hills pinot noir of late because it’s so full of character and so dang food-friendly. I think savoury waffles topped with roast mushrooms, rocket, and chorizo would be ace" Yvonne Lorkin, Wine Friend, Jun 2018

1 x Off the Books New South Wales Touriga 2016 (Australia)

AWARDED 91/100 POINTS: Peter Malcolm,The Inquisitive Palate Blog

AWARDED 90/100 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2016

"A preservative-free wine; the youthful bouquet shows lifted aromas of dark plum, blueberry, floral and mixed spice with a touch of citrus vibrancy. The palate is generous and beautifully weighted, and delivers lovely fruit richness and silky texture, nicely structured by supple tannins. The wine offers plenty of pristine fruit flavours. At its best: now to 2019" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2016

"The Touriga pours a dense black crimson into the glass. Strong perfumed aromas of savoury dark plummy fruit, violet and lavender florals and toasty oak. Further aromas of cinnamon and a hint of white pepper add interest. The nose segues to a buoyant dark and red-fruited palate. Plum, blackberry, boysenberry. Perfume and fruit upfront and then transitions to a mid-weight, generous core with secondary flavours of coffee, spice and earth. The florals hang around and there is a smooth leather-like texture to the back. A savoury line of bright acidity and firm tannins drive the wine to a lengthy finish...This wine will have you reaching for that second glass" Peter Malcolm,The Inquisitive Palate Blog

In every business there are deals that move under the table, often these are the sweetest of deals, with greatest prices or unheard of quality only available for the select few. For wine makers at 'off the books' every year such opportunities present them selves in parcels they just can’t say no to, special ferments demanding individual attention that override rational planning. Never wanting to see amazing wine blended away they take these small parcels and just make it happen to bring these gems to life. No better is this showcases in their Touriga, a Portuguese varietal best known for being the core ingredient of Port production. This New South Wales version offers a vibrant glass of red that ticks all of the boxes: vivid, cloth staining purple with a wild and opulent nose of boysenberry and blood plums, lifted by violet and spice overtones. The palate is medium bodied with fantastic blackberry and boysenberry flavours, dark soil and spice with faint herbal complexity. A Joven style for drinking now with interest and complexity and a maximum.

1 x Speak No Evil Organic McLaren Vale & Monash Valley Shiraz 2017 (Australia)

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018

AWARDED 17.5/20 POINTS: Raymond Chan, March 2018

"Full, very dark, near impenetrable, purple-black hued red colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is softly presented showing a building heart of ripe, dark raspberry and blackberry fruit.  This is up-front, vibrant and quite primary in expression. Medium-full bodied, sweetly rich and lusciously ripe flavours of dark raspberry and blackberry fruit with notes of plum jam, liquorice, and nuances of pepper and spice.  The mouthfeel is fleshy and juicy, with fine-grained supple tannin extraction and balanced acid freshness. The wine carries with good energy to a lingering plummy finish" Raymond Chan, March 2018

Organic, hand-picked Shiraz fruit from McLaren Vale (80%) and Monash Valley (20%) was sourced from 25 year old vines and aged for 10 months in French oak (30% new). The palate is opulent and inviting, flooded with dark plum and blackcurrant fruit flavours, framed by exotic smoked spices and fine-grained savoury tannins. The finish is long and impressively detailed for such a rich mouth-filling wine.
