Description
"Organic farming underpins this fun loving rose, something often unseen at the price point too. I like the strawberry scents, fl irty and sweet, but there’s enough peppery spice, to temper it. The palate is pitch-perfect sweet then dry, crunchy in texture, refreshing. Bucks spent well" Mike Bennie, WBM Trade, Oct 2017
"I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: one of the most encouraging wine trends in recent years is the enthusiastic embrace of pale, dry rose. It’s such a perfect style of wine to be drinking as the weather warms. Another great trend that you’ve heard me harping on about before is the growing interest in wines made from sustainable, organically-grown grapes. Well, here you have those two trends intersecting in a lovely, crisp, fruity, refreshing - and great value - way" mMax Allen, Australian Gourmet Traveller, Nov 2017
This shiraz-based rose, sourced from an organically grown section of Angove’s Nanya vineyard at Paringa on the Murray River, shows cherry, watermelon and raspberry fruit on the nose and palate, with a crisp, clean finish. Enjoy chilled by itself or with food ranging from fresh seafood to chicken or lighter pork dishes" Mike frost, Frost on the Vine, Aug 2017
"Made from organic shiraz grapes, this strawberry-kissed, gently sweet yet refreshing rose has great character. I like it best as a way to refresh the palate after a hearty pasta, whipping the mouth into shape for the next bite" Mike Bennie, Herald Sun, Jul 2017
"A Rose with a cheeky smirk. Spring time lovin’ in a neat package. Watermelon, red currants and red cherries form the nucleus of this sessional Rose made from Shiraz. Good fruit is complimented by an acid crunch to cut through a range of foods. Chill it hard ready to tear into a picnic feast. Good value drinking" Steve Lesczynski, Qwine, Jul 2017
Pale salmon pink in the glass. Fresh cherry, watermelon and blueberry on the nose & cherry, red berry on the palate with a clean finish.
From Australia’s leading Organic winemakers, Angove's Organic Rosé was sourced from the organically certified Nanya vineyard and premium certified organic growers in the McLaren Vale region. In particualar the Shiraz for this wine was grown in the Angove Family’s certified organic Nanya vineyard in Paringa, perched high on the cliffs overlooking the mighty River Murray. 15+ year old vines growing in deep, light sandy loam over a bed of limestone on gently undulating east-west ridges. This magnificent vineyard is a showpiece for organic viticulture. Angove work towards improving the health of the vines and the soil with extensive undervine mulching, not using any artificial herbicides or pesticides and only natural fertiliser to achieve outstanding fruit quality with the added benefit of caring for our environment.
Harvested in the cool light of dawn in the middle of February whilst the berries still had a reasonable acidity but also good sugar and flavour ripeness, the grapes were crushed and held on skins for a short period to allow a little colour pickup and then drained and pressed to ensure minimal tannin in the final juice. Fermentation with a specially selected yeast occurred in pristine stainless steel under cool, temperature controlled conditions to ensure maximum flavour and aromatic. This wine is Vegan friendly and ready now to drink!
