Description

Ruby red in the glass. In the mouth the savoury sensations evidence the characteristics of this wine: warm, embracing, pleasant, with the right acidity to denote drinking easiness.
Sourced from vineyards in the villages of Treiso, Neive, Barbaresco and Neviglie, which see a south east and south west exposure through the day. The variety of sites provides a mix of soils from the four different villages, which provide complexity to the final wine. This classic Italian red includes Barbera, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto grapes.

Whilst there is no shortage of exceptional wine makers in Barbaresco, Pelissero is one of Decanter Magazine's, top ten producers of Barolo & Barbaresco. He is an unashamed modernist and showman, but also incredibly hardworking. For Decanter's, Stephen Brook, Pelissero's opulent reds are amongst the best due to his balanced approach towards an international outlook whilst remaining rooted in tradition and culture of Treiso. At Black Market we are sure you will agree with Stephen and find a new favourite in Pelissero's 'Le Nature' Vino Rosso Barlet.

'Le Nature' first release in 2004 was created to offer a new design, new name and a new appellation for the Pelissero range. The ethos behind it was therefore to utilise different 'natures' to craft this wine from the different hills where the grapes are gathered, the different winemaking processes for the single varieties, as well as the use of different grape varieties (mainly Barbera but also Dolcetto and Nebbiolo). These aspects represent the multiplicity of the 'natures' that produce the Langhe Doc Rosso Le Nature. In addition to the reference to these different natures in the wine's name, the name "Barlet" translates from the Langa dialect as a small barrel with tap, which the peasants used to bring with them as refreshment during the tiring hours spent in the country, the so called 'meals wine'/ table wine.

Crafted following traditional methods Pelissero seek the correct percentage of each varietal vintage to vintage in order to maintain the freshness and savour the typical features of these indigenous grapes. The temperature is controlled, and maceration takes between 10 to 15 days. Maturation of the individual parcels takes place exclusively in stainless steel vats, before the winemakers select the diverse varieties for blending just before bottling.

Food pairing: A harmonious and balanced blend was produced to offer flexibility and ease for food-matching. 'Nature' as result is suitable for daily consumption but also nice to enjoy at the 'merende sinoire' (a local Piedmont expression indicating an evening snack).
