Description

"Delicate nose of elderflower and snow peas. The palate is rounded with the same flavours as aromas. A nicely balanced wine which finishes just a little hot. The cauliflower makes the wine seems less hot but no real improvement" Meg Brodtmann, Sydney International Wine Competition 2018

Showing lifted notes of blackcurrant leaf and passionfruit, underpinned with aromas of fresh herbs and lemon zest on the nose. This Mystery Sauvignon's palate is brimming with juicy fruit that is balanced with a long, crisp mineral finish.

This Mystery winery is know for innovation right down to the packaging! This Mystery Sauvigon comes in an 'eco-bottle' that is lightweight, shatter-proof, 100% recyclable plastic PET...perfect for the great outdoors!

Carefully selected parcels of Sauvignon Blanc were sourced from this Mystery Vineyard's Marlborough sites, which experienced a mild-to-cool spring period, which ensured that the vines naturally produced lighter than average yields. Carrying lighter than usual crops along with the cooler weather meant vintage started only a week later than previous years. Harvest took place over a period of nineteen days. The resulting wine is shows the wonderful typicity these Mystery sites are known for – highly aromatic fruit flavours of passionfruit and fresh herbs, vibrancy, purity and minerality.

At the winery, the fruit was destemmed and gently pressed. The juice was cold settled for 72 hours, after which the clear juice was racked off, followed by a long cool fermentation in stainless steel to capture and enhance the fruit flavours. Each of the individual parcels were fermented separately using a range of selected yeasts to enhance varietal characters, which was later blended before bottling. Enjoy now, or cellar up to 2 years.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with both fresh and cooked seafood dishes such as oysters, prawns, green lip mussels and fish.
