"A delightful merlot cabernet blend, the immediately appealing bouquet shows cassis, spiced plum, cigar and vanilla characters. The palate is equally appealing with delectable fruit flavours and fleshy texture, beautifully framed by supple tannins. It is flavoursome and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2020" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2018

With vibrant aromas of red fruit and sweet vanilla, this Mystery blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon has s rich and velvety mouthfeel with supple tannins and smooth finish.

The fruit for this Mystery blend was sourced from vineyards located across the Hawkes Bay region. An array of soil profiles including free draining alluvial gravels, combined with high sunshine hours make Hawkes Bay New Zealand’s ‘home’ to the French Bordeaux varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Whilst in the winery these grapes were 100% crushed and destemmed to fermentation vessels. Inoculated with several strains of yeast and aerated throughout  ermentation, peaking in temperature at 28-30ºC. Pressed off skins and aged in tank and barrel for 12 months.

Very nice wine, good body and flavour. Will definitely buy some more!

The label said nothing about this wine's provenance so I docked a star for a poor pitch. Tasted great though and I'd consider buying more if I ever remember the name of it.
