3 x Aquilani Tuscany Pinot Grigio 2015 (Italy)

Pale yellow straw in colour in the glass with a bouquet that is vibrant and immediate, with intense notes of acacia flowers. The palate is crisp and dry, with lively acidity and a refreshing finish.

Pinot Grigio 100% grown in the high quality Friuli appellation sub-regions of Udine and Pordenone. The grapes are harvested at optimum maturity in the first half of September. Enjoy whilst the wine is young and fresh or over the coming 1-2 years. Serve at 10-12 °C.

Food Pairing: This zesty Pinot Grigio is an ideal match with fish and shellfish based dishes, poached white meats and poultry and vegetable entrees including risotto.

Seal: Screw Cap - Alc:12.5%

3 x Aquilani Tuscan Sangiovese 2015 (Italy)

Pouring ruby red, the nose is intensely vinous showing fragrant notes of violets. The palate is harmonious and dry, with fine grape tannins and a savoury finish.

Sourced from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Tuscan appellation sub-regions of Siena, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia and Arezzo on calcareous, clay soils. The grapes are harvested at optimum maturity in the second half of September, and undergo a pre-fermentation maceration on skins to extract colour, lasting for 6-8 days. Enjoy whilst the wine is young and vibrant or over the coming 2-3 years. Serve at 16-18 °C.

Food Pairing: This light bodied sangiovese shows great versatility and would be an ideal match with Italian style cured meats, hearty pasta dishes, white and red grilled or roasted meats, and fresh cheese such as a young pecorino or caccioto.

I haven't tried the red yet but the pinot grigio is very good value.I like that definite Italian flavour.
