AWARDED 4 Stars: John Livingstone Learmonth,

AWARDED: 16/20: Jancis Robinson, Master of Wine

A classic blend of 70% Grenache, 30% Syrah (av age 45 years), destemmed, pre-fermentation crop cooling, 3-4 week vinification, wild yeasts, pumping overs, part vat emptying/refilling, concrete vat-aged 6-12 months, unfined, filtered, biodynamic wine.

"(all concrete) Brilliant ruby. Heady aromas of ripe dark berries, violet, incense and olive on the exotically perfumed nose. Smells like there's more Syrah in here. Smooth and expansive on the palate, offering sweet raspberry, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors that pick up a smoky quality with air. In a densely packed but energetic style, showing excellent closing thrust, an echo of candied flowers and suave, velvety tannins."— 92 Points, Josh Raynolds,

"Healthy red robe. Mixed red and black berries airs mix on the bouquet, which has a good, oily depth, comes with licorice, buffed leather also. The palate flows freely, has an even brisk presentation of spiced Grenache, and violet notes at the end. It is very naked, very joli, appealing, is a superior Vacqueyras."— 4 Stars, John Livingstone Learmonth,

"Generous and fleshy in feel, with steeped cherry, boysenberry and raspberry fruit wrapped in singed mesquite and backed by a light bramble note on the juicy finish. Drink now through 2020."— 91 Points, Wine Spectator

Bright violet. Vibrant cherry and red berry scents are complemented by suggestions of licorice and peppery spices. Finishes juicy and very long, displaying subtle tannic grip and a hint of red fruit liqueur.

Located in the appellation of Costières de Nîmes, just south of Châteauneuf de Pape, Vignobles Michel Gassier unifies two ancestral estates in a single desire: to make captivating wines that express the essence of the grapes & the terroirs that nourish them. Michel’s philosophy is that great wines are made in the vineyards, not the winery.

Certified organic since 2011, the vineyards are maintained with strict agriculturally responsible farming methods. Under the guidance of Philippe Cambie, Michel Gassier’s wines have received multiple awards around the world.
