Speak No Evil Organic Shiraz 2017 (Australia)

Awarded 17.5/20 Points: Raymond Chan, March 2018

"Full, very dark, near impenetrable, purple-black hued red colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is softly presented showing a building heart of ripe, dark raspberry and blackberry fruit.  This is up-front, vibrant and quite primary in expression. Medium-full bodied, sweetly rich and lusciously ripe flavours of dark raspberry and blackberry fruit with notes of plum jam, liquorice, and nuances of pepper and spice.  The mouthfeel is fleshy and juicy, with fine-grained supple tannin extraction and balanced acid freshness. The wine carries with good energy to a lingering plummy finish. Hand-picked Shiraz fruit, 80% from McLaren Vale and 20% Monash Valley, vines 25 y.o., fermented to 14.2% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 30% new French oak" Raymond Chan, March 2018

The palate is opulent and inviting, flooded with dark plum and blackcurrant fruit flavours and framed by exotic smoked spices and fine-grained savoury tannins. The finish is long and impressively detailed for such a rich mouth-filling wine.

The 2017 vintage saw a return to conditions not commonly seen for over two decades. Cool wet weather condition early in the season resulted in harvest being a month later than normal. However, a dry and consistently moderate Autumn ensured the fruit was able to ripen slowly in ideal conditions. This ‘throwback’ vintage will become famed for quality and elegance of the fruit.

Food Pairing: We recommend pairing with bean-kale burgers served alongside sweet potato wedges, for the perfect accompaniment to this vegan friendly Shiraz

Seal: Screw Cap - Alc: 14.2%

Farm Hand Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (Australia)

Awarded 86/100 Points: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2017

"Bright, youthful and fragrant, the bouquet shows dark plum, blueberry jam, cocoa and floral characters. The palate is juicy and lively, and delivers attractive fruit intensity and smooth texture, nicely framed by soft tannins. Very easy-going and friendly. At its best: now to 2020." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

The nose is lifted and expressive, displaying mellow red fruits, a dusty herbal perfume and notes of mocha oak. The palate is likewise open and medium bodied with blackcurrant, olive and mulberry flavour matched with subtle tobacco. The wine is generous in the mid plate before soft tannins and bright acidity carry the wine to a lingering finish.

The Farm Hand wines were grown by the Grigoriou family, fourth generation wine growers, on one hundred acres of Organic Vineyards in the Monash Valley. The moderate, dry climate and fertile soils in this region are perfectly suited to organic viticulture. The 2017 vintage saw a return to conditions not commonly seen for over two decades! This ‘throwback’ vintage will become famed for quality and elegance of the fruit.

Food Pairing: Enjoy this wine now with family and friends over a gorgeous succulent roasted beef of lamb cut.

Farm Hand Shiraz 2017 (Australia)

Awarded 83/100 Points: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2017

"Soft-toned and gentle, the wine displays bright notes of raspberry, cherry and strawberry with subtle spice notes. The palate is juicy and lively, and delivers subtle fruit intensity backed by smooth mouthfeel. At its best: now to 2019" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2017

The nose is inviting and ripely fruited, all bright red-berried fruit, plums and sweet spice with a hint of savoury oak. The palate is medium bodied and apprachable with dark berry and cassis flavours framed by soft tannins.

Food Pairing: Well-suited to a variety of red meat dishes including BBQ spare ribs.
