Description
"It is gently fragrant on the nose displaying spiced cherry, thyme, mushroom, nutmeg and game characters. The palate is fruity and rounded with delicate fruit intensity backed by smooth texture and fine tannins. Friendly and easy going. At its best: now to 2019" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2018
Medium red with garnet hues in the glass, with a bouquet of cherry and strawberry with subtle oak spice. The palate shows fresh flavors of cherry and red berries. Smooth, velvety texture with fine tannins and balanced acidity.
A sense of history hangs in the rafters at the Stables. Built over 100 years ago, the Stables is the heart of the Ngatarawa winery in the Hawke's Bay. And it’s the home of New Zealand’s first family of winemaking, the Corbans. Their 'Stables Reserve' range is a fruit driven varietal collection produced from small parcels of premium grapes from selected vineyards. These food friendly wines have good palate weight and are styled to bring out the true varietal character of the region.
Can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 5 years from vintage date.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with contemporary red meat dishes – try venison, lamb and duck.
