Description

"Brightly fruited and nicely fragrant, the bouquet shows grapefruit, red apple, nectarine and lemon zest characters. The palate is juicy and refreshing with attractive fruit intensity and fine texture, backed by crisp acidity. It is flavoursome and very easy to enjoy. At its best: now to end of 2018" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2018

Light yellow with green/gold hues in the glass. Elegantly, crisp and refreshing Sauvignon. Rich stonefruit, tropical and passionfruit flavours. Smoothly textured with a fresh limey acidity to give a crisp, refreshing finish.

A sense of history hangs in the rafters at the Stables. Built over 100 years ago, the Stables is the heart of the Ngatarawa winery in the Hawke's Bay. And it’s the home of New Zealand’s first family of winemaking, the Corbans. Their 'Stables Reserve' range is a fruit driven varietal collection produced from small parcels of premium grapes from selected vineyards. These food friendly wines have good palate weight and are styled to bring out the true varietal character of the region.

The 2016 growing season was a characterised by a relatively cool Spring, good heat through the mid-Summer with drought conditions in some Eastern areas and variable conditions at harvest. This made for a challenging harvest with picking decisions largely dictated by periodic rain events. However, conditions remained warm throughout the harvest period and all-in-all we were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of grapes received at the winery.

Food Pairing: Enjoy on its own or with seafood, chicken or Asian inspired flavours.
