Description

"This smart package is grown on a property on which a 150-year-old chapel still stands (it now serves as a tasting room), and offers excellent value. It’s a tight, linear style, with sophisticated blackberry and blueberry flavours wrapped in a soft framework. It’s an approachable style that would be well matched to vension sausages" Cuisine magazine, Australian Shiraz Tasting, Issue #189, June 2018

This wine displays decadent aromas of blueberries, dusted with Indian spices. The luscious palate is brimming with Aniseed and Satsuma plum flavours that seamlessly integrate with the gently textured oak and the firm persistent tannins.

Chapel Hill Winery was built on the site of the historic Seaview Chapel. The Chapel was built in 1865 and now serves as the winery's tasting room. The first vines
were planted at Chapel Hill in 1972 a and now under the guideance of Michael Fragos and Bryn Richards, Chapel Hill strives to hand craft wines with purity and balance.

Strategically harvested to avoid any overripe, broad or jammy fruit flavours, and then allowed to remain on skins for up to 8 days to ensure optimum extraction of flavour and tannin. Following gentle pressing the free run and pressing fractions are combined. To promote varietal expression and complexity only well seasoned French oak was used. During this maturation period the wine was regularly racked to encourage the integration of the boisterous youthful tannins.
