Escarpment’s Artisan range is a commitment to the future expansion of their key varieties. Exploring boundaries has always been part of Escarpment's philosophy and is exhibited in their winemaking approach.
The Kaiserstuhl district of Germany prizes Pinot Blanc for its spicy subtle fruit flavours and its ability to truly reflect its terroir. Escarpment is excited to be able to release the sixth Single Vineyard Pinot Blanc from its Te Muna Road Vineyard. They believe this site ideally suits Pinot Noir so a classic Pinot Blanc should result. Additionally the new label design is to fit in with the Nina Rosé image, reflecting a modern up to date approach, to this classic wine style.
After harvest juice was barrel fermented to a dry style (<1gms/l sugar), aged for 11 months prior to bottling. Winemakers recommend enjoying while young, though this said it will age gracefully for at least 5 years.
Food Pairing: It will certainly create some interesting wine/food pairings. In particular we recommend drinkinng alongside potato-crusted Salmon served with a herb salad.
