Description

"Very pale salmon-pink colour, very light on the rim.  The nose is very elegant and delicate with fragrant aromas of strawberries and cream, quince and subtle notes of red florals and suggestions of fruit-pastille confectionary.  The aromatics form a rounded core with richness, but retain finesse and beauty.  Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a fine, concentrated heart of strawberries and cream, quince and soft red floral notes.  The fruit possesses richness, a soft texture and smooth flow.  The palate has fresh acidity, and the flavours flow with good energy to a dry, thirst-quenching finish.  This is a finely concentrated dry rosé with a subtle richness showing strawberries and cream, with quince notes on a smooth, refreshing and mouthwatering finish.  Serve as an aperitif, with canapes, dim sum and antipasto over the next 2 years.  100% Pinot Noir from the Wairau Valley and a single site in the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 10 weeks on lees" Raymond Chan, Oct 2017

"A very tasty rosé, the inviting bouquet shows lifted aromas of raspberry, watermelon, stone fruit and floral, leading to a mouth-wateringly delicious palate that is juicy and refreshing. It is instantly appealing with loads of vibrant fruit flavours, and finishes long and lively. A perfect wine to chill out with" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

A hand-crafted labour of love thid Mystery Rose is bone dry in style with aromas of raspberry, rhubarb florals & a touch of pastille confectionery. Juicy acidity & flamboyant flavours integrate harmoniously.

This rosé wine is regarded as this Mystery winery's most 'provocative'. The Pinot Noir grapes used for this wine were carefully selected from the alluvial free draining soils of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley & from a very special clay predominant site at the southernmost end of Marlborough’s Awatere Valley. The decision to harvest the grapes was made on ideal acidity rather than sugar ripeness. The juice was fermented similar to a white wine with aromatic yeasts at cool temperatures in stainless steel. The wine was fermented until dry & left on fine yeast lees for 10 weeks to add texture & salinity to the palate. This is an exceptional example of a pure, vibrant & classy New Zealand Rosé. Aromas of fresh watermelon & wild crushed berries are matched with mouth-watering acidity, lovely silky tannins & a refreshingly dry finish.

I bought this wine for our wedding in February and could not be happier. Very easy to drink, not too sweet and a nice dry finish. Just perfect for a hot summers day.

Very tasty rosé. Criso and fruity to the palate with a lingering slightly tart after taste.

Lorraine - 03/10/2018

This is gorgeous, excellent value for money, although the first few bottles evaporated rather quickly.

Very nice Rose, easy drinking and this mystery wine is from a great winery and is $26 at Glengarry + elsewhere. Bargain price, buy some, buy lots (stock up for summer), you won't be disappointed!

Tim - 10/09/2018

Pleasant Rose but not a fan of the presentation. Ugly label etc.

Nice, crisp rose. Enjoyable.

Very dry and took a couple of sips to get in the swing of it. Hints of strawberry with creamy texture. I think it will go great with summer fare.

Ben - 20/09/2018

Lovely surprise for a mystery wine. And I love the concept that the winery supports mental health. Will order more.

A peasant, but not exceptional, wine. Nice shaped bottle but not very practical.
