lush peach, citrus and honeysuckle
All Vavasour wines are 100% varietal and true, honest expressions of their Awatere Valley terroir. Off-dry in style, the 2011 Riesling delivers lush peach, citrus and honeysuckle flavours. The crisp palate leads to a chalky finish with the stony minerality found in all of our white wines.
We harvested the fruit in the cool of night to preserve the flavour and freshness that epitomize Marlborough Riesling Careful canopy and yield management, including leaf plucking and shoot thinning, ensured great concentration and character. After pressing, the juice was cool-fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain the essence of the fruit

zesty minerality and crisp acidity
On release the wine has a light lemon colour. There are aromas and flavours suggesting ripe apples, peaches, nectarines, limes and fresh figs. While there is good fruit concentration in the mouth it is lithe and lively with zesty minerality and crisp acidity to balance its off- dry finish. There is a lifted freshness to the lingering aftertaste.
The grapes were picked in late April – May and then gently pressed. The juice was fermented slowly at low temperatures to aid the retention of its fruity aromas and flavours. At all stages, from fermentation to bottling, it was handled very carefully to help it retain a little of its natural carbon dioxide to add extra freshness and zest. The wine may thus show a little spritzig when first poured.

new release - a must to try - low alcohol
Fresh ripe strawberry flavours make this low alcohol wine very appealing and a must to try. A touch of blackcurrant and passionfruit notes lead to a round, elegant palate with a long lengthy finish.
This Rose is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes which were selected from Marlborough vineyards and machine harvested in the cool of the night in order to retain fresh fruit flavours. They then spent just a few hours on skins to extract the delicate amount of light strawberry colour you see in the bottle, then carefully pressed. After settling the juice was fermented in 100 per cent stainless steel at cooler temperatures to retain fruit flavour and freshness. Ideal served chilled... Read more »

“5 Stars – beautifully refined & pure dry Riesling”
5 Stars: Raymond Chan, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
The wonderfully delicate nose carries citrus and soft floral characters seamlessly to the palate. Here, the mouth feel is abundantly vibrant and lifted offering lemon and lime carefully balanced with bright fresh, full fruit sweetness. A true expression of vineyards and vintage, Mr. Riggs Watervale Riesling 2012 represents precisely place and time.
