What exactly happened at Grass Cove, Queen Charlotte Sound, on October 17th 1773 will never be known. Except to say that when HMS Adventure set sail the following day, the ships master had renamed the cove, Bloody Bay. Today this evocative name represents an exciting range of NewZealand's regional wines.
