Of an average cask age of ten years, it is a young port of russet color with brilliant crimson highlights and a fragrant, ripe-fruit bouquet. Its smooth, silky texture and subtle oak nuances are balanced by a fresh acidity and tannic ‘grip’ that culminate in a long, elegant finish.

The Fonseca Guimaraens house style is one of richness and warmth, with a lush fruit intensity and a structure of both dimension and finesse. More voluptuous than massive, Fonseca Ports are coveted for their sumptuous yet refined body and great longevity.

Deep ruby-red colour, with garnet rim. Classic intense black fruit nose. Firm, vigorous, full-bodied palate, with powerful fruit flavours and a long finish.

Taylor's Special Ruby Port is blended from red wines produced in the Baixo Corgo and Cima Corgo areas of the upper Douro Valley, selected for their depth of colour, intense fruit and full, firm palate. These wines are matured for about three years in oak vats, where they soften and develop without losing their fresh, intense fruity character and their deep ruby colour.

In 1844 Christopher Rawson Penfold planted vines on the slopes of Magill to produce fortified wines. Penfolds is now proud to present a range of fortified wines that is a continuation of more than 160 years of winemaking tradition.

For nearly 60 years Penfolds Club has been one of Australia's favourite choices of Tawny. Beginning life as Penfolds Five Star Club Tawny in the 1940s, this wine has grown with the nation. Penfolds Club is blended from more than 200 components to offer the complexity and consistency that is expected of the Penfolds 'house' style and has an average age of three years.

310 years and still going strong

Taylor’s Special Tawny Port is characterised by smoothness and is a relatively full tawny, with a pronounced fruity character. This blended port, selected from lighter wines made in the Douro, is aged in wooden casks of around 600 litres for three years before being bottled. This provides smoothness and gives the wine the slightest hint of wood.

Taylor's is the largest and one of the oldest Port houses in Portugal. Taylor’s Special Tawny Port is particularly popular in Continental Europe where it is drunk predominantly as an aperitif. For those preferring a lighter style, this versatile port can also be enjoyed after meals and should be served slightly chilled in the summer months.

It is so refreshing with beautifully balanced sweetness and acid, plus a nice clean botrytis dimension to it also. Super dessert wine from Monbazillac - France's 'other' great sweet wine region. This is a genuine bargain, a must try wine.
