Description
NZ wine expert’s homage to the rare North Italian white grape, Arneis or “little rascal” as it translates in English. Planted by only a handful of producers here in NZ, this variety’s popularity is growing at speed such is the charm and versatility of the little rascal. Offering whopping great value, engaging and fresh, perfect with loads of cuisine, you can bet this wine is sure to impress. Don’t delay this is molto bene!
"Beautifully exressed, the complex bouquet shows stone fruit, lemon peel, dried grass and beeswax characters, followed by a vibrant palate that is juicy and lively. It is elegant yet flavoursome, and finishes long and mouth-watering. An excellent wine to partner fresh seafood dishes. At its best: now to 2018." Sam Kim Wine Orbit March 2016.
"Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight lemon hues, very pale edged. The nose is fresh with tightly concentrated and firm aromas of white stonefruits along with steely white florals and subtle notes of nuts, herbs and a touch of lanolin. This has very good clarity of expression. Dry to tate and light-medium bodied, the palate features a fine and tight core of mouthwatering white foral and white stonefruit flavours entwined with subtle notes of herbs and lanolin. The wine follows a soft and fine-textured line with crisp, lacy acidity adding energy and drive. The wine leads to a long, taut, dry finish of stonefruits and florals. This is a taut, mouthwatering, dry Arneis with fine textures and acidity. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto and with seafood over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the company’s vineyard fermented in stainless-steel with 20% in seasoned oak to 12.0% alc. and 2.4 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage." Raymond Chan

A delicious wine, very fruity and perfect for drinking in the sun. reminiscent of the wines in northern Italy this is a crowd-pleaser with my friends and family. Love it!
David - 03/05/2016
Lovely! Hadn't had this variety before but for lovers of pinot gris or reisling, it's a find. Softer than a typical NZ savvy, floral and fruity.

Kevin - 22/10/2016
Family members who favour aromatics were very taken with this wine and, in a couple of cases, said they preferred it to Pinot Gris. I thought it was very appealing and will buy again.
Colin - 22/10/2016
A really nice wine. about to order some more

A wine for Sauvignon Blanc and perhaps dry Riesling enthusiasts with adventurous palates. The partial barrel fermentation adds a distinct taste to this wine. But the careful treatment creates nothing of the intensity of a fume blanc. Besides, Arneis does not have the power of flavours to stand up to that. Rather this is a wine that could pair well with (lightly) smoked seafood. For the adventurous as described, this is a four-out-of-five value for money wine

Pleased to see when it arrived that it was a .... - always a guarantee of quality. Pleasant, fruity, something between a riesling and pinot gris for taste and finish. Slightly off-dry and would suit most tastes. Most enjoyable and excellent value for money
