Description
Savvy shoppers, this is it, the last of the GOOD STUFF (Award winning wine by Clark Estate).
"Quite a Sancerre-like Sauvignon Blanc with stony mineral, gooseberry, green capsicum and nettle flavours. Good concentration and purity with impressive underlying power." Bob Campbell
" One of the most impressive sauvignons from the vintage, it's fabulously aromatic on the nose showing white peach, grapefruit, dill and lime zest notes, leading to a powerful palate that's juicy and mouth-wateringly tasty. The wine offers plenty of attractive flavours. " Sam Kim Wine Orbit
"Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is elegant and refined with intense, tightly bound aromas of pungent passionfruit and nuances of tropical fruits, revealing classical Awatere grassy and nettle notes with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a good core of passionfruit flavours entwined with piquant herb and grassy nuances, the fruit showing sweetness, enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity. The mouthfeel is lively and vibrant and the phenolic handling is fine, allowing the juiciness feature. The wine carries to an elegant and slender, moderately concentrated finish. This is a bright, lusciously juicy, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with some elegance. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Awatere Valley fruit cool-fermented in tank to 12.7% alc. and 1.63 g/L RS." Raymond Chan
Fruit for this wine is off a single vineyard situated in the Upper Awatere Valley where the vines experience harsh conditions such as high winds and cool temperatures. The vines struggle and therefore produce small but intensely concentrated berries.
Deliciously pure, crammed with lifted passionfruit, grapefruit and gooseberry aromas. A zesty palate full of enticing herbaceous crushed herb and nettle flavours mixing seamlessly with layers of fresh lime and stone fruits. A classic Upper Awatere wine with distinctive chalky mineral characters and racy acidity – great length and lasting finesse.

Tina - 20/12/2015
maybe a better wine but just not suited to my taste so much as others I have tried in this price range
Neil - 30/12/2015
I wouldn't rave about it but OK for the price
Judy - 23/12/2015
a bit disappointing given the hype
David - 23/12/2015
It's ok but not that great. A bit thin and sharp with an odd soapy/strange perfumy after taste. Atypical for Marlborough SB and doesn't live up to the extravagant write up it got.
John - 21/12/2015
Nice passion fruit bouquet, but flavours are quite austere and not a style of SB I really enjoy
