Fruit for this wine was sourced from several vineyards throughout lower Wairau Valley, Marlborough where the soils are fertile and deep free-draining silt loams of sand. These soils give a slight salty character which contributes to the elegance and complexity of this Faultline Reserve Chardonnay.
A fruit driven chardonnay with complex flavours of ripe stone fruit and melon, with toasty oak notes. The palate is elegant and succulent with rich texture and a lingering finish.
The majority of the chardonnay was barrel fermented in a mixture of French and American oak. This wine went through malolactic fermentation which helps to soften the acidity and gives fullness on the palate.
A great wine for drinking immediately, or with careful cellaring of up to three years from vintage date this Chardonnay will develop into a fuller, more complex wine.
An ideal match with scallops, cream-based pasta dishes or roast chicken.

This is one of the best value for $$$'s chardonnay out there. It ticks the boxes of a $35 Chard'. I really shouldn't comment due to the risk of the price going up, or too many wine lovers hearing about it..
