BEST VALUE WINES OF AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND 2012: Winestate Magazine

"It's intensely aromatic on the nose displaying passionfruit, lime zest and herbaceous characters. The palate is punchy and lively with superb fruit richness and a lingering crisp finish. A highly enjoyable wine showing classic varietal flavours and excellent balance. At its best: now to 2014." - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Irresistibly priced, this delicious sauvignon blanc is from Fern Ridge, a Hawke’s Bay-based supplier of seafood, meat, fruit and vegetables, dairy products (and now wine) to the world. A Wairau Valley wine from low-yielding vines (under 9 tonnes of grapes per hectare), it is mouthfilling and ripely flavoured, with passionfruit/lime characters to the fore and a crisp, dry (3 grams/litre of residual sugar), slightly minerally, lasting finish. Drink now." - Michael Cooper

"Classic passionfruit, citrus and herbaceous aromas which ooze through on to the palate. Not too sharp, the acidity is spritzy and beautifully balanced while the palate is full, rich and fruit driven. Nicely made" - Yvonne Lorkin

"A “steal”. From Hawke’s Bay-based Fern Ridge Wines, this wine was grown at five sites in the Wairau Valley. Weighty, it has ripe, passionfruit/ lime flavours, fresh, crisp and dry, a minerally streak and a long finish." - Winestate Annual 2012

Pale gold in colour with light green hues. Intensely aromatic with a blend of passion fruit, gooseberries and lime zest on the nose. A delicate passionfruit and gooseberry introduction leads to superb fruit richness and a long textural mouth feel with a clean limey dry finish. This wine is delicious as a starter, or with long lunches and seafood or chicken dinners and can beautifully compliment Asian Cuisine.

Hãhã in Maori means savoury and luscious, attributes clearly reflected in our wines. Hãhã wines are hand selected for exceptional value. We understand that being passionate about wine doesn’t come hand in hand with expensive tastes. We believe that wine lovers should have their desires satisfied in a way that’s also affordable.
