"This is supple, fleshy and immediately appealing. The bouquet is ripe and lifted showing dark plum, floral, spice and a hint of game characters. It's succulent and smooth on the palate with lovely fruit weight and polished tannins. A great drinking Merlot packed with mouth-pleasing flavours. At its best: now to 2015." - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"A blend of Merlot and Malbec fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged in French and American oak barriques. Dark ruby-red colour with purple hues on the edge. The bouquet is elegantly proportioned, but with intense, concentrated and penetrating aromas of spicy, ripe black plum fruits, liquorice and oak cedar, still quite tightly bound. Medium full-bodied, the palate is tight and concentrated with a tight amalgam of dark plums, spicy berry fruits and cedar underscored by fine-grained, firm tannins. The acidity is balanced adding a brightness to the fruit. The palate has a good core and line through to an attractive, liquorice nuanced, dry finish. Serve with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean lamb and beef dishes over the next 4-6+ years." Raymond Chan, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
Deep ruby crimson in colour with a nose that displays a bouquet of lifted plums, dark cherry and spicy fruitcake characters. The palate is full, rich and soft with a mouthfilling length and structure. A wine styled for approachability, enjoyment and will benefit from some bottle age. WINEMAKER – ROD MCDONALD
2010 was a harvest characterized by its relatively warm early season temperatures. While the early season warm, the autumn was a little cooler than usual, ideal for slow ripening and as a result, fruit was generally harvested later than average. This has helped to provide a harvest of great flavours, sugar and acid balance. The dry weather eventually ended in May, once all the grapes had been well and truly harvested.
