Pale straw with green hints. Lifted white peach and passion fruit, with a hint citrus and orange zest. Concentrated white peach and citrus flavours and a distinct mineral quality are the hallmarks of this Awatere Valley wine. The long and creamy palate finishes with a refreshing acidity. Winemakers Notes
Tupari Wines Ltd. is boutique family-owned company that produces high quality, single vineyard wines from the Awatere Valley of New Zealand. Heather & David Turnbull alongside Glenn Thomas & his partner Sharon have bought their families together in a partnership that now also involves the second generation. Glenn Thomas is the pioneering winemaker who helped established the Awatere Valley as one of the world's great wine regions. Glenn identified the potential of the Turnbull's small north-facing river flats nestled in the upper Awatere Valley and encouraged David & Heather to plant their vineyard in 2002. Glenn and David then formed the partnership that is Tupari Wines. The Tupari Vineyard is located 30 km up the Awatere River at an elevation of 150m. The vineyard is made up of small, sunny river terraces that look down onto the river gorge. The 30m cliffs at the northeast end of the vineyard give inspiration for the name Tupari - meaning 'cliff' or 'precipice' in Maori. Tupari rhymes with 'Campari'.
