"Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh with bright citrus fruit aromas, lively and pure with a steeliness. Subtle notes of oak spice, flint and butter emerge. Medium-bodied, this is finely presented with lively citrus and white stonefruit flavours. Some buttery MLF notes and nutty oak notes support the fruit, and with lively acidity, the palate has real drive and line. This has harmonious and balance, with excellent freshness carrying through to a zest, but fine and subtly flavoured finish. This is a fresh, bright, balanced and up-front fruit-driven Chardonnay that has subtle interest built in. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 3-4+ years." Raymond Chan
Lifted, elegant and varietal aromas of white peach, apricot and subtle well integrated oak spice. A medium-bodied Chardonnay with a soft round palate showing ripe peach and stone-fruit flavours with a delicate buttery finish. Winemakers Notes
Saint Clair Family Estate is owned by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, viticulture pioneers in Marlborough since 1978. Grapes were originally supplied to local wine companies; however a desire to extend the quality achieved in the vineyard through to the finished wine led to the establishment of Saint Clair Family Estate in 1994. Since then they have never looked back and today are one of the countries most successful wine companies.
