"an accessible and satisfying Chardonnay"
4 STARS: Raymond Chan
“Bright pale straw-yellow colour with green hues, this has full ripe citrus fruit and peach aromas with attractive butterscotch notes from malolactic conversion showing clearly. Dry on palate, with good body at 14.0% alc., the palate is richly flavoured with citrus fruits and buttery elements along with a hint of sweet oak, the wine showing good depth and presence. The textures are smooth and creamy, the butterscotch malolactic elements dominating a little. However, this has good acid balance and a long finish, making it an accessible and satisfying Chardonnay". Match with poultry and pork over the next 2-3 years.” Raymond Chan
"An elegant, medium-bodied wine with a fragrant bouquet displaying lifted aromas of citrus, white peach and apricot with subtle well integrated oak spice. The palate is soft and round showing peach, lemon, cream and a touch of cashew. This wine is well integrated with depth of fruit and great mouthfeel. The finish is lengthy and smooth. The Wishbone Chardonnay is perfect for dinking now and with careful cellaring can be enjoyed over the next two to three years. The fruit for this wine is all from Marlborough and a portion of the wine was fermented in oak and underwent malolactic fermentation"
A great match with chicken casserole, roast pork or meatballs.
