"try this beauty"

4 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"If you are looking for a nicely fruited smooth red that's a little fuller than Pinot, try this beauty. The nose is ripe and fragrant showing red/black plum and spice characters. It's medium-bodied on the palate showing silky texture and a juicy mouthfeel leading to a gently drying finish. A straightforward Merlot offering plenty of ripe flavours and amazing value for money. At its best: now to 2013" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"The fruit for this wine was harvested from a selection of key vineyard sites within the Marlborough Valley on the Wairau plane.  Aromas of ripe plums and tobacco leaf with hints of vanilla and toasty oak are followed through on the palate. A smooth powdery tannin structure supports an elegant and stylish palate with well-balanced acidity and a well integrated oak finish. Drinking nicely already, this wine will continue to develop for up to four years from vintage date. A perfect match with any tomato based pasta, lamb shanks or with barbequed red meat" Wine Makers Notes
