BIG, VELVETY & COMPLEX SHIRAZ. BENCHMARK BAROSSA FROM AUSTRALIA'S OLDEST FAMILY WINERY
93/100 & 5 STARS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
90/100: Nick Stock, The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2010
"An impressive Barossa Shiraz displaying blackberry, dark plum and vanillin oak characters on the nose. The palate is saturated with ripe fruits and velvety texture in a perfect frame of ripe tannins. The wine is intense and powerful yet rounded and cuddly at the same time. Absolutely delicious drinking. At its best: now to 2017." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Dense black purpley red in colour with an aroma exhibiting a mix of fresh briary almost blackcurrant tones, balanced with violets and dark plums, finishing with an earthy, savoury complexity. The palate is full bodied demonstrating Barossa Valley hallmarks of richness, density and concentration. Silky fruit complexity is the key here with both red and dark jubey flavours. The palate finishes with fine, earthy tannins. Try with a rare rib eye steak." Winemakers Notes
With 160 years of Barossa heritage Yalumba continues to champion Australia's most celebrated wine region and variety with its Patchwork Shiraz sourced from several high quality yet vastly different Barossa vineyards.
